Fair ain't what you really need.

HELLO.

gynaecology posting was awesome.
didn't expect it to be so great/well cause i was expecting it to be somewhat like my obstetric posting youknow.boring...?
well..except for the nursery part. i love babies.. what can i say?

anyway, i was posted to ward 44.
i shall say that, ward 44 is more like a MTPT -material ward. because of the number of MTPT cases they can have in a day. HORRIBLE.
most common reason for MTPT? an unwanted pregnancy.
by the way, MTPT means (in simple terms) abortion.
many have been praying on their lucky stars for a chance to observe the process of MTPT..
yes, initially i was.
but only to realise how disgusting, horrible, heartbreaking it is.
i guess i really did let my own judgement affect my professionalism.

sadly &unfortunately, yes... many who came to the ward for MTPT are malays.
horrible? tell me about it.
but it's nothing new youknow.

oh, do you have any idea what they do to the aborted& unclaimed baby?
the staff would clean it, weigh it and wrap it with blue sheet..
and place it in an apple struddle -kind-of box, together with the placenta.
the mortician would come and collect the box in the morning.
(oh, the mortician is quite good looking youknow!)

i still remember the first time Sister showed us the aborted baby of bed 8.
my, i felt like crying the mo Sister carried it and showed it to us..
like the movie 'JUNO', it has fingernails.
For the very first time, my heart felt heavy and i was pretty upset about it.
especially when Siser told us about foeticide..
foeticide is done in abortions after 20 weeks, whereby an injection of potassium chloride is used to stop the fetal heart.

well, the reason why i said my gynaecology posting was awesome is definitely not because of the MTPT thingy.
in ward 44, i managed to do plenty of things.
i did........
*tons of admissions.
*administer IM on vastus lateralis.
*administer SC atrapid and SC flexaparine.
* run & schedule IV therapy.
*assist doctor in insertion of vaginal pessaries ( Cervagem).
*pre-opt procedures.
*care for patient post-opt/ post-abortion.
all thanks to the staffs in ward 44.
(really nice people to work with; a nice ward to work in.)

OKAY. let's stop ranting about my attachment.

so yesterday, i companied bestiewestie to Suntec for the career exhibition..
well, i went for it last year..and the year before.nyeh.
she wanna checked out on overseas universities since her A' level results coming out soon.
AND, bestiewestie checked out some for me on Nursing.
HHAHAHAHA.
anyhow only.... but i really appreciate it :) loveyou!
i was under bestiewestie's influence yesterday.
i regretted buying that yesterday.
if i know it gonna happen, i could have followed bestiewestie back to her place for a sleepover.
right?
no wonder i had this bad feeling inside of me.

ON A BRIGHTER NOTE ;

i want mr.sun to come out in the next few days!
i wanna go sun tanning at sentosa.
i wanna go rollerblading at ECP.
i wanna go swimming.
most importantly, i wanna go to wildwildwet with the girls this Saturday
:)
but if it continues to rain, i still have my red psp to keep me company indoor.
